The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (2012) is the first of the three parts in which the novel The Hobbit was divided for its adaptation to the cinema. The plot takes us to Bilbo Baggins, a hobbit who leads a simple life in the region, until the magician Gandalf arrives and convinces him to join a group of dwarves to recover the kingdom of Erebor. The adventure takes Bilbo on a path through dangerous lands full of orcs, goblins and other enemies, including his encounter with Gollum and a "simple" golden ring that is linked to the fate of Middle Earth in a way that Bilbo can't imagine.
