Star Wars: Episode II is a "science fiction space opera" directed by George Lucas and written by himself and Jonathan Hales. It was the fifth movie released in the Star Wars saga and the second chronologically. The plot is developed after ten years of the events that occurred in the previous film. After the Battle of Naboo, the galaxy is on the verge of a civil war. Under the direction of Count Dooku, many solar systems threaten the secession of the Galactic Republic. After the attempts to assassinate Padmé Amidala, the previous queen of Naboo, the Padawan Anakin Skywalker is assigned to protect her, while his master, Obi-Wan Kenobi, investigates the assassination attempt.
