This video covers the life of the famous artist Gustav Klimt from his beginnings in Baumgarten in Austria until his worldwide success. He was prodigiously talented even from an early age, as was his brother Ernst, with whom he would establish an artist company. He was the first president of the Viennese Secession, but his life was not free of controversy, the paintings of the University were a good example. He is best known for his portraits that are painted in a very decorative style often with gold leaves that combines geometric decoration with realistic depictions of hands and faces. His most famous painting is probably The Kiss, completed in 1908. Klimt died in Vienna in 1918 at only 55 years of age.
